Bullshit Budget is a free, lightweight spending tracker for the money you set aside between paycheques. No bank syncing, no complicated accounts, and no subscription.
What it does
Choose a budget for each pay period, record purchases manually, and see what you have left. Group spending into categories like eating out, booze, entertainment, shopping, and other purchases.
Pay schedules can be biweekly or twice monthly, with optional weekend payday adjustments. Credit-card purchases can be marked paid without counting them twice.
How it works
Built with vanilla JavaScript and Vite, Bullshit Budget is a Progressive Web App (PWA). You can install it on your phone, and it can work offline after the app files have been cached.
Your budgets and expense records are saved in IndexedDB on your device. There's no backend spending database. Records don't automatically sync between devices, so exporting a JSON backup periodically is important.
