The short version
This app does not collect or upload your expense records. Transactions and budgets stay in your browser's IndexedDB. There is no bank integration, spending-account backend, advertising script, or in-app behavioral analytics.
Cloudflare still processes technical website traffic and security information in order to deliver and protect the site, as described below.
What stays on your device
When you use Bullshit Budget, your expense descriptions, amounts, dates, categories, payment methods, credit-card payoff flags, pay schedule, and budget amounts are saved locally using IndexedDB. The app also keeps small preferences (such as installation-guide dismissal) in browser storage and caches application files for offline use.
We do not operate a central financial database for these records. Data does not automatically synchronize between devices, and each device or browser profile maintains its own copy.
What information goes where
- On your device only: expense titles, amounts, dates, categories, payment methods, credit-card payoff flags, budgets, and pay schedules.
- On your device: installation-guide preference and cached app files used for offline operation.
- With Cloudflare when you visit: the ordinary network request and security information described below, not the spending records you enter.
- Not collected by app features: bank credentials, bank transactions, cross-device spending analytics, ad identifiers, or location tracking via device GPS.
What Cloudflare processes
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As requests reach Cloudflare, it may process technical information such as your IP address, browser or device details, URLs requested, timestamps, request and response metadata, and security signals or events. Cloudflare's processing and retention are governed by its services and the operator's configuration.
This is website delivery and security data, not a record of what you enter into your budget. The application does not send transaction descriptions or amounts to Cloudflare.
Accounts and cookies
You do not need an account or email address to use this public deployment. The budgeting app itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may use cookies or other technical signals for website security and delivery.
Analytics, advertising and bank connections
This deployment does not include application-level advertising, third-party behavioral analytics scripts, or bank integrations. Cloudflare may provide operational and security metrics derived from website requests. We do not use spending data to profile users or target advertisements.
Backups and data loss
JSON and CSV exports are generated in your browser and saved wherever you choose. We do not automatically upload or retain a copy of these exports. Take your own backups and store them securely.
IndexedDB is persistent but not guaranteed permanent. Clearing website data, uninstalling the PWA, browser eviction, or losing your device can erase the local records. We cannot restore spending records we never received.
Changes
If the deployment's hosting, authentication, analytics, or data-handling behavior changes, this notice should be updated accordingly.
